Actually, a good friend of mine wants me to help her achieve this goal, so we will train (virtually) together...as she lives in baltimore and I am in Toronto. We completed a try-a-tri in 2009...and want to challege ourselves again.
I was born in Toronto and raised in the suburbs, and now live in the heart of it all, and want to experience the many different places and cultures that is great city has to offer! I want to discover / rediscover this great city and all that it has to offer.
I see the tour bus go by, and yet have never been on one. I see tourists with their maps and books, and yet, wonder what it is that they are doing...what are they seeing, where are they going, and what are they saying on those tour buses!
Because it is time to put me first! Its not just about the releasing the weight, it is also about making smart choices with food and exercise. i did not put it on in a day...so I know that it will take some time and effort to release it.
It is encouraging to read the written word...get absorbed in the tales that the author has put down on paper. The books may be to escape from reality; or it may be to learn something new; to learn about someone's life; to discover a new place; to have an adventure!
To visit one of my best friends! I have been to the Big Apple a number of times, but have not been there is a few years, and would love to see it through my best friend's eyes...take her out on the town, and enjoy ourselves!
