Why do you want to do this?
The Great Salt Lake is 75 miles long and 28 miles across. I have lived within sight of this lake for most of my life and the only thing that may stop me from sailing across it this year is the North Shore Monster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Shore_Monster
What three things will you need to make this happen?
Experience. I'll need to be confident in my seamanship under a variety of circumstances.
Planning. I'll need to plan and research the route and the resources needed to sail across the Great Salt Lake.
A first mate. Sailing the HobieCat takes a two man crew and I'll need a reliable sailing companion.
What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?
