Why do you want to do this?

I am currently on high blood pressure medication and I would like to get off of it. I need to lose more than 10pds but this is a start.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Watch my calorie intake

exercise daily with a focus on 5 days a week intensely

increase my water intake to 8 glasses a day

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

losing momentum in a few days, believing that I am tired, stress from work

I saw another member who used this as her motivation: "I will just think about how tired I'll be if I don't get in shape for hiking in Peru." Is there another goal you have that you could use to help you stay focused?

Her point is so well-put: If we don't push ourselves a little at times, we end up less prepared to take on other, more amazing challenges and opportunties to live better, more fulfilling lives. I hope you stay on track!

Hi there! How's this coming along? Day 4 update? I don't like getting on a scale, really, because then I end up focusing on numbers instead of health. But I love when my clothes fit a little better! I hope you're making progress. What's the good word?

I actually was inspired by the 21-DC to get on a scale this morning, which I NEVER do! I mean, don't most women notice when they've put on 20 pounds?? I have sworn off Mallowmars officially as of today and I had salad for lunch (hopefully the chicken salad I put on top of it doesn't negate the good effects!). How are you doing with your water intake and such, OReilly? As soon as I get rid of this nagging sinus infection I am going to hit the gym hard. Are you doing OK with your six-day workout or is that too much all at once? Curious by nature. :)

Hi OReilly! Haven't seen you in a while. I wondered how you were doing. I am still plugging away, not making a ton of progress, honestly, but making small changes that are good for me. I stopped going out to restaurants and getting takeout, so that's a good start, right? 

Next step, more exercise. I went for a bike ride down to the beach yesterday with my daughter, it was magnificent. Woke up this morning and my backside was sore but it was so worth it. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the company and the fresh air.

Today it's snowing again so ... now I need a new plan! Hope you're doing well and making small steps (or big ones) too! Give us the update!
