Why do you want to do this?

For our honeymoon my husband and I went to Germany, but time and cost kept us from also visiting Austria, specifically Vienna and Salzburg. We hoped to go for our 10th anniversary but that came and went so I am aiming for our 20th in 2017.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Money.

Help from family to care for our son.

Time.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

We are not savers, and we just bought a house that needs a lot of work. Plus we've never really been big travellers, feeling somehow like spending money on trips isn't as valid as spending it on something tangible.

A bit of randomness--- my husband asked me the other day where I would travel to if I could go anywhere, and I mentioned Vienna. We have talked off and on about trying to go back to Europe for an anniversary or something one of these years. Well this morning he came up with an even better idea -- tie in the trip with the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Eve concert! So just now I have emailed the VPO to get an idea of how much the tickets are since I'm sure they are very expensive (and only available by international lottery the January prior!). There's step one!

Okay extremely weird coincidence...just about right as I was typing that my husband was on a stretch of road he's never been on and passed a restaurant called "Vienna"....sometimes the universe just gives you hints along the way and you need to pay attention!
