Play the Prosperity Game for 21 Days
Career & Finance: Investing

Why do you want to do this?

I am more comfortable with money coming in when I am comfortable letting it go. This is a good practice in letting money go and actually seeing the checks being written.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Check book to write actual checks and a check register to record the deposits into the account.

A blog to keep track of all the ways that I spend the money.

Consistency to follow through with what I started.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

Taking the time to record how I spent the money everyday.

Kasey, would you mind sharing more about the Prosperity Game? I know a lot of members have savings and budget goals and the great way you phrased this is getting a lot of attention! Is it really a game with rules or are you just a terrific, colorful writer (which I also enjoy)? Thanks for any extra info you can share! By writing down this goal, you're already helping other people get there, too.

Sure thing Shea, thanks for the comments. This is actually a game from Abraham- Hicks. The goal of the game is to increase your vibration around large sums of money. Here's how it works:

On the first day, 'deposit' $1000 into your bank account. The rules are that you have to spend all of the money that day. No savings or hoarding. Spend it all. On the second day increase the amount deposited by $1000 so you have $2000, $3000 and so on. By day 21 you'll have to spend $21,000. If you play for 21 days you will have spent $231,000 total! You can keep playing as long as you like I just am using the 21 day challenge here to play the game.

I use an actual check book that has been canceled to physically write the checks which makes it more real. Anything you can do to be more involved in the process the better. Write detailed comments in the memo line like, 'my dream couch' or 'car I've always wanted'.

Here is a link to my blog where I'm keeping track of what I spend and can add photos and links:

This is totally cool! As someone who is really focused on saving, I can honestly say the thought of spending that much money in real life makes me throw up in my mouth a little. :) This would be a great dream board exercise, and really show you how you would spend money if it were available, so you can plan better to get there. I definitely see the value. I will check out your blog, too. I'm so glad you shared this, thank you! I can't wait to see what you spend your "money" on.

The game has been going great! I've been making time everyday to play. It's starting to be what I look forward to each day:)
