Personal Development & Community: Self-development
Why do you want to do this?
I moved to the U.S. from Australia when I was 9 years old. I am 20 now, which means I have spent more than half of my life in a country in which I have only remained a permanent resident. Although this does not in any way change who I am, it is more of a formality than anything to be able to say I live in the United States and am also a citizen. It will also make traveling to other countries a lot easier, instead of having to obtain visas.
What three things will you need to make this happen?
Wait until May when I have been an official permanent resident for a full five years.
Hope that going to Ireland and becoming a citizen does not clash with each other, and they will let me leave the country
Pass the citizenship test
What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?
The timing of everything
