This is exciting! So close to happening now. Do you have a list of places you want to go when you get there. The rental house sounds interesting ... did you do that instead of going for a full hotel the whole time? I know that's often a better option when you're traveling with a family. I love Hawaii, can't wait to see your pictures!

Thanks for the note! We had a great time! We stayed in the rental house for one week on the north shore and then in a hotel for a few days in Honolulu. The house was fantastic and we were very happy we did it that way. We were actually there when the earthquake in Japan happened and had to evacuate the house for the night due to the tsunami. It was a little scary but no major damage was done. I will have to post pictures soon!

I wanted to tell you, your goal and how it included renting a house actually influenced our recent trip to Los Angeles. We rented a place in Marina Del Rey and it was the best thing we could have done. Plenty of room, more relaxed and less expensive because we could cook some of our meals and not overload on restaurants. So thank you for a good idea! I'm so glad you were safe and hopefully had a wonderful time in spite of the challenges. What a good rocking chair story that will make!
