Why do you want to do this?

Since I was little I have always envisioned different elements of homes that could combine to make my dream home. Now that I have owned two different homes, I have been able to more fully realize what I prefer in a home and what I do not. I think it would be a fun to design and build a home that is totally "right" for me and my family.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Collect design and conceptual elements from various houses and from experience. This collection of the elements will assist me to design the whole.

I will need to be patient and wait for the house market to improve so that I can sell my current house. In the meantime, I will work to make extra payments on my current house to relive the morgage debt.

Based on my designs, I will need to determine the estimated cost of my dream home to be sure that I have the finances to afford building it.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

The largest barriet at this point is the housing market. Until it improves or we get more of our current house paid off it would be financially unwise to sell at this point.
