Sports & Adventure: Exploration

Why do you want to do this?

1) I love the ocean. Do anything that requires me to be on the ocean. 2) I want to live life with passion and do big adventures, I'd like to experience the adrenalin rush 3) To gain credibility as an adventurer, so that I can inspire people to follow their passions.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Money - to make sure the race gets done.

A good team

Lots of publicity

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

THe biggest barrier is money. Without money we cannot get the boat over without being in debt.

Currently it's september and I am organizing a few fundraising events. I hope that these events will raise enough money to pay for expenses. If not, we will be in debt. The events are:

1) Tilley Wine and Cheese

2) Dinner with Tania Aebi

3) Resort event

Finally found a supplier for some rowing machines, will talk to them about it to see if I can rent them for one day. Will need to do a lot of publicity for the Tilley store event to get a lot of people. I want to make sure we raise a lot of money and also help our sponsor!

It's crunch time and I am going to step up to the plate!

Unfortunately, we are not able to raise the money to get in the official race, we are seriously thinking of doing our route. This time from North Carolina - Bermuda - Azores - CAnary Islands. Pretty much doing it from west to east. Problem is, it's a much more trickier current and technical navigation. Especially from North Carolina to Bermuda. Lots of eddies there..... have to consider very seriously if I want to take that route - especially for a rowboat.

 This is such an awesome goal!! I've crossed the Gulf Stream in a Sailboat and we hit a good  4 knot current at one point, but I would hate to get it wrong and have it against you.  thanks Bill.. appreciate the support. Unfortunately, we spent a bit of money altogether to get it going, it was close but no cigar. AS we had two charities to support, it was difficult to get cash to donate......
